Admission to Philander Smith University (PSU) is open to all persons who show potential for college-level work and who meet our admissions requirements. To be considered for admission, students must have earned a high school diploma from a regionally accredited high school, passed a state-issued GED test, or completed a state-approved home school program. PSU admits new students in the fall, spring, and summer terms.
Admission to university programs and activities is offered to students regardless of race, national origin, religion, physical disability, age, or sexual orientation.

You may complete the easy online application or download and print a paper application to be submitted by mail.
Official Transcript or GED Scores
Submit your official high school transcript or GED scores to the Office of Admissions & Recruitment.
If applying as a transfer student, official college transcripts from ALL colleges attended must be submitted. If you transfer with fewer than 30 semester hours, you must also submit your high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores.
ACT or SAT Scores
A copy of your ACT or SAT scores.
Immunization Record
A copy of your immunization record showing the complete dates of 2 MMRs (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccinations.
Electronic transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to the PSU Office of Admissions.
